So you have found the perfect Airbnb location to stay and you are really excited about your trip! You want to get everything figured out and set up so that all you have to do is look forward to the trip! However, you haven’t heard back from them yet…what to do?!
Once you decide where you want to stay on your Airbnb trip, Airbnb suggests that you message the host to confirm the availability of the space for your dates.
Unless the space is an Instant Book listing, you will need to make a request that the host accept your reservation. Airbnb recommends messaging the host prior to requesting. That way, they can answer any questions or address any concerns you have about their space, and confirm availability.
When you find the listing you like, click on Contact Host and then ask any questions or concerns you have. Typically, hosts will respond within a few hours. Don’t panic if you don’t hear back right away, as it is possible the host does not have Internet at the moment, or that they are in a different time zone and may be sleeping. Hosts needs to respond within 24 hours in order to keep their rating.
If, after 24 hours, they still haven’t responded, consider reaching out to other hosts in the surrounding area. You can message several if you like. That way you have several options. However, don’t send multiple reservation requests in the same area for the same dates, as you may end up accidentally booking and paying for multiple spaces.
