Being an Airbnb host can be super fun and profitable. However, there are certain personality types that don’t work well with being an Airbnb host.
If you feel unsafe or uncomfortable with strangers being in your home, Airbnb is probably not a good fit for you.
If you are “straight friendly” only, being an Airbnb host is probably not for you. Having any kind of discrimination towards possible guests is not a good place to start as an Airbnb host.
If you are anti-social or not good with responding to emails or text messages, Airbnb hosting is probably not for you. Being a host means communicating with the guests- checking them in, answering questions, handling emergencies, and checking them out. You’ll also have to talk with potential guests.
If you have a super busy schedule and don’t have time to clean or hire someone to clean between guests, or deal with guests concerns, Airbnb hosting is probably not for you. There will be many guests that don’t require much work, but there will also be those that do.
If you are a hoarder, being and Airbnb host is probably not for you. In order to get nice photos for the Airbnb website, you must have tidy rooms, which includes those hidden spaces behind closed doors.
If you are a liar, Airbnb hosting is probably not for you. If you feel you must lie about the accommodations, this won’t work forever and you will soon be discovered.
If you’re a jerk that is only in it for the money, Airbnb hosting is not for you. Leaving your hosts without another option, especially at the last minute, is not a good way to draw in guests.
If none of those things sound like you, great news! You could be a good candidate for Airbnb hosting! Sign up as an Airbnb host!
