When you are making a purchase on Amazon.com and you have two comparable items, how do you choose which one to purchase? If you’re like me, you might read reviews and take the feedback from customers into serious consideration before a large purchase.
Likewise, with Airbnb host reviews are so important. If you have a nice stay with a clean and comfortable home and helpful host, say so! If you have a less than pleasant stay, say so! The more specific and detailed you can be, the more helpful this will be to future potential travelers. Be sure to comment on the home’s location, safety, cleanliness, features, and special touches. What attracted you to this particular lodging option?
The reverse is also true! Hosts, it is important to leave reviews for your guests. Have a respectful, clean and easy to communicate with traveler? Say so! Have a disrespectful, dirty or difficult to communicate with guest? Say so in either private feedback or a public review! Help future hosts know what your concerns are and help the travelers to correct their potentially unintentional errors. Again, go into as much detail as you can to help future hosts!
Here’s what Airbnb has to say about reviews: “Reviews are limited to 500 words and must follow Airbnb’s review guidelines. You can edit your review for up to 48 hours, or until your host or guest completes their review. To see reviews you’ve written or reviews about you, go to your Reviews. You’ll also see any private feedback that people have left you. Our community relies on honest, transparent reviews. We will remove or alter a review if we find that it violates our review guidelines.”
