Fort Collins is one of the safest cities in the United States. Crime rates are very low, sites are beautiful, and people are friendly.
As a long time resident of Fort Collins, I have never felt unsafe, even while walking alone at night. I have never felt threatened. I have never had anything stolen.
In fact, one of my friends in Fort Collins lives in the upper floor of her home and rents out the basement on Airbnb. She enters her home through the front door. The guests enter through the garage with the garage code or beepers. There is a door separating the basement from the rest of the house, but there is no lock on it. Occasionally, some folks feel uncomfortable with this situation. However, the family upstairs has at much at risk as whoever is occupying the basement. In all the tenants, she has never had an issue with people being in her space or messing with her things, and vice versa. There’s a certain amount of trust that goes along with staying in Airbnb- the host trusts the guest to take care of their home, and the guest trusts the host to reveal all necessary information and not put them unnecessarily at risk.
There is a homeless population in Fort Collins, but they generally are in the downtown areas (not in the neighborhoods or parks) and they are very respectful and polite. I have never had an issue with anyone in all my time spent in Fort Collins.
With Fort Collins being my home, I have always felt very safe here. I know that you will too. And if you live in Fort Collins or Northern Colorado and have a property you aren’t currently occupying, I would love to chat with you more about Airbnb property management and how it can work for you!
