I have a friend that has worked as an Airbnb cleaner in Colorado, cleaning a three bedroom home, kitchen, living room, and two bathrooms between Airbnb guests. These are some of her experiences.
One set of guests was six or seven guys that appeared to be in their twenties. I was pleasantly surprised to find the house perfectly tidy after they departed! There was no mess at all except the usual traces of occupancy. They left behind a bag of toiletries and a box of protein bars, but even the beds and bedrooms were tidy!
The next set of guests was a quiet family. They left behind a Christmas sweater and an earring. I cleaned the house around noon, and they had left around 10 am. I thought that they had left behind two backpacks, but actually the next family had checked in without the host’s or my knowledge and then gone into town. So the backpacks actually belonged to the next set of guests! They left a thank you note and even took out the trash!
The following set of guests was a loud family with rambunctious kids. The family with the two backpacks. Luckily they did not return until after I was able to finish swapping sheets and towels and wiping everything down. They didn’t leave any mess behind, either.
These three sets of guests each stayed for several days in a three week period. I was able to inform the property owner of the status of the house and any left behind items after each guest left, so that she could leave an appropriate guest review on Airbnb. Colorado, including this Fort Collins home, attracts many guests in the summer when the weather is nice and there is a lot to do outside!
